South Western Railway invites applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Group C & Erstwhile Group D against Sports Quota.

Age Limit as on 01-01-2017:
- Group C: Minimum 18 and Maximum 29 years
- Erstwhile Group D: Minimum 18 and Maximum 32 years
Educational Qualification :
- Group C : Passed 12th or its equivalent examination from recognized institutions. Matriculation Plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship/ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.
- Erstwhile Group D : 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent from recognized board/ institutions.
- Group C: Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay : Rs. 1900/2000/-
- Erstwhile Group D: Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay : Rs. 1800
Application fee :General/ OBC candidates have to pay Rs.500/- through Postal order in favour of Assistant Personnel Officer/HQ, South Western Railway, Hubli, payable at Hubli. No fee for SC/ST /PH/Women candidates.
Selection Process: Through Written Test, Scouting Skill Assessment & Marks on certificates.

Name of the Posts: General Duty Doctor
Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on 19-10-2016.
Educational Qualification: MBBS and have valid registration certificate of any of the State Medical Council of India.
How to Apply: Eligible and interested candidates may attend the walk in interview along with application form in the format appended with necessary self attested copies of testimonials in regard to date of birth, educational qualification, experience and report to Assistant Chief Medical Superintendent (ACMS) .

About South Western Railway:
Southern Western Railway came into operation on 1st April 2003. Their headquarters is in HUBLI. It is the last railway zone constructed in Indian Railway. Southern Western Railway is divided into 3 divisions i.e. Bangalore, Hubli, Mysore and 4th division work has already been started which is at Gulbarga. Railway authorities are plan to add more lines and rails in this zone. Southern Western Railway has more foot print in Karnataka.
Southern Western Railway has only 5% of electrified or double board gauge line and the Karnataka state is working on it. In fact they have recently doubled up certain line i.e. Mysore – Bangalore, Bangalore – Yeliyur which has opened lot of traffic which was a major problem sometime back. But the work on other lines is very super slow. Hubli being the headquarters the line between Hubli and Gadag is in progress and yet to be completed.
Southern Western Railway is adapting technologies to share reports, documents and other work, this will surely help them to save papers. Mysore is soon going to be given the designation of “Digital Division”. All the officials will start using Google Drive to exchange their documents and files. Railway authorities have launched two web helplines to pass information amongst the departments. A new software is being made to maintain records of passengers, hygiene, electronics etc. And this process will help in reducing the quantity of registers made and all the clerical work. The Government is aggressively following the measures on reducing the use of Paper.
