Educational Qualification: Graduate in Art/ Science/ Commerce with B.Ed Degree University/Institute recognized by government of Meghalaya
Pay Scale: Rs. 14585-28645/-
Selection Process: The selection will be done on the basis of written test & interview.

About Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MEECL)
Meghalaya is measured to have rich base of natural resources. Meghalaya has a large forest shield, rich biodiversity and many water bodies. The low level of industrial development and the comparatively poor infrastructure base acts as an impairment to the exploitation of the natural resources in the attention of the state’s economy. Meghalaya has much natural attractiveness, and the state govt. has been trying to exploit this for encouraging tourism. However, infrastructural restrictions and security alarms have hampered the development.
In North East India, Meghalaya has the biggest hydro-electricity prospective, second to Arunachal Pradesh. According to info from the North Eastern Council Sources, the stateowns a hydro-electricity potential of around 58,000 MW which is nearly one-third of the total potential of the nation. Out of this, Meghalaya has a prospective of nearly 3,000 MW.
The projected Garo Hills Thermal Project at Nangalbibra is predictable to produce an additional 750 MW of power. There is a plan for set up a 250 MW Thermal Power Plant in West Khasi Hills. The generation communication, distribution andtransformation of electricity is trusted to the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd which was established under the Electricity Supply Act, 1948. At present-day there are 5 hydel power stations & one mini hydel with a total fixed capacity of 272 MW. These covers Umiam Hydel Plan, Umtrew Hydel Plan, Myntdu-Leshka-I Hydel Plan & the Sunapani Micro HydelPlan.
