Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras invites applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Technical Trainee & Graduate Trainee.

Name of the Post:
- Technical Trainee: 08 Posts
- Graduate Trainee: 14 Posts
Upper Age Limit: Maximum age 23 years for Technical Trainee & 28 years for Graduate Trainee.
Application Fee : Candidate have to pay Rs. 100/- in shape of Demand Draft in favour of The Registrar, I.I.T. Madras. No fee for SC/ST /PWD Candidates.
- For Technical Trainess: Diploma holders (three years duration) in Electronics / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
- For Graduate Trainee: Class B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering/ Master degree in relevant subject.
- Technical Trainee: Rs. 9000/- pm
- Graduate Trainee: Rs. 10000/- pm
Selection Process: Through written / trade test followed by an interview.

About IIT Madras
Indian Institute of Technology of Madras is an independent public engineering and research institute which is situated at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was founded in the year 1959. It was established by the Government of India through an act of Parliament and was the 3rd IIT to provide research and education facilities in technology and engineering.
The campus has approximately 8000 students and 1250 administrative and supporting staff. The seven IIT’s: IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mumbai, IIT Chennai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee were declared to be Institute of National Importance in the year 1961.
IIT’s are controlled by the IIT’s council, an apex body established by the Government of India. The HRD Minister is the Chairman of the Council. Board of Governor is responsible for its overall administration and council of each institution. The Academic Policy of all the professors of the institution is comprised by the Senate. The teaching and training activities of different department are periodically reviewed which helps to improve the facilities and maintain standards. The ex- officio Chairman of the Senate is considered as the Director of the Institute. Board of Senate, Board of Academic Research and Board of Academic Courses are the 3 sub-committee. All the responsibilities of the finance policy is taken care by the finance committee.
The campus has different department and research centre in various streams of engineering. Research programs are undertaken by faculties or specific research groups within departments. IIT Madras has initiated a new program called National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning, to improve the standard of higher education in India.
