About HP High Court
The Himachal Pradesh was conceived as an aftereffect of mix of twenty six Shimla and four Punjab slope States into a Centrally Administered Area on 15 April 1948. The Central Government proclaimed the Himachal Pradesh (Courts) Order, 1948 on 15 August 1948. It was vested with the forces of a High Court under the Judicial Commissioner’s Court Act, 1950. The Court of Judicial official began working on 15 August 1948. The Punjab High Court guidelines and requests with suitable revisions were made relevant.
In the year 1966, the Delhi High Court Act was sanctioned by the Government of India, the Central Government of India expanded ward of the said Act to the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh, supplanting the Court of Judicial Commissioner by the Himachal Bench of Delhi High Court, at Shimla and it began working in old High Court building known as “Revenswood”. The Court of Judicial magistrate stood annulled with impact from 1 May 1967 and rather the purview of the High Court of Delhi was reached out to Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh under the Delhi High Court Act, 1966.
On 18 December 1970, the State of Himachal Pradesh Act was gone by Parliament and the new state appeared on 25 January 1971 and built up its own High Court with central command at “Revenswood”.
