About East Central Railway
East Central Railway started its operations in the year 1996 and is one among the 17 railway divisions in India. The Headquarter of East Central Railway is in Hajipur and has got 5 divisions under its fold. The divisions under East Central Railway are Sonpur Division, Samastipur Division, Danapur Division, Mughalsarai Division, and Dhanbad divisions. The freight and passenger transportation facility provided by East Central railways to its covering areas has become a great blessing and this has made rapid growth in the infrastructure as well as economic development in the areas of its operation.
The network of East Central Railway is vast with a network of 5230 track kilometers and 3624 route kilometers covering the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
